Thread Sketching

This week I've had time to try something new-
thread sketching or free motion sewing.
Since I found this great 'drawing with your sewing machine' tutorial,
by Jennie at A Little Vintage, I couldn't wait to find some time to have a go.
This was the week.

I made some brooches with an old woolen blanket
and some wool felt that I had.

This white flower, with a vintage button is my favourite.

I also made this one as a thank you gift.

And this little bird, layered with some red felt to
give a hint of colour on the side.

It was much easier than I thought and now I've started
I can see I will be doing more.
