I've been admiring Ingrid Jansen's wood & wool stools for a while.
Geographical distance means obtaining one would be a little difficult.
So, when I saw a pattern for a crochet granny square stool topper in
issue 12 of Mollie Makes magazine, I was inspired
to get the hook out and have a go at making my own.
The Dr gave me a native NZ recycled rimu wooden stool in our courting days
and I have an array of wool in my stash.
I threaded elastic around the edge to hold mine in place.

It is still a work in progress and will sit flatter when I weave in all those ends.
I like how it brightens up my kitchen area.
I'm still going to eye up Ingrid Jansen's ones,
because it's not quite the same.
because it's not quite the same.
But, it will do for now.

Great Job......looks nice and cosy in its new colourful cover. Perfect for Winter.....
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my eye out for a cute little stool looking for some crocheted goodness.
Have fun weaving in those ends....that's the job I hate. I have learnt that it's better to make the effort as they have a tendency to wiggle themselves loose otherwise.....
