Doll Run Done

This run of Petite Dolls was finished this week.
They are made out of some of my favourite fabrics.
All with removable leather shoes.

On the last one I tried out a new way of doing eyes with felt.

Now I have a few pouches to make for them.

Dalahäst Mail

This arrived in the mail today.
The mailman delivered an unexpected little package to the door.
And, it was for me.

A lovely blog met friend in the USA has sent it.
She is so clever with needlework and has her own pattern range on the go.
She knows of my love of Scandinavian things from
spending most of my primary school years in Stockholm and Copenhagen
and stitched this Swedish Dalahäst (Dala Horse) for me.

It is perfect.
I love getting delightful mail.
Thanks, Jennifer!

Two Little Dolls

I'm making dolls again and have a run of little dolls on the go.
I've just finished these two Petite Dolls.

Both dolls have the essential leather shoes that all my dolls wear-
pink and red this time.
The darker one has a vintage cord dress with ric rac trim and
the blond one is Scandinavian inspired with her blond hair and fabric print.
She is my favourite this time.

There are a few more of these Petite Dolls to come.

Things I'm Loving

Things I'm loving this week are:

I love winter and the cold.

* Tulips on my table today.
Wrong time of year,
but they do make me smile.

* Thrift Joy.
I've had some serious thrift joy this week:
This Crown Lynn Nursery Rhymes series 'Mary Mary Quite Contrary' Plate.

This 1930's Agfa camera:

And, this Georg Jensen cup and plate:
I love his stuff (mostly the jewellery) and got a set of 4 of each of these.
Delight!

*  I'm loving a reminder to stop, appreciate and
be thankful for each day and moment for what it is.
And that I can still link in with others being thankful with

Hope you had a lovely week.

No Needle Knitted Scarf- Another One.

With the cooler weather here I had some motivation to make
I've had the wool since last year, when I met a lovely
lady in Queenstown, who hand dyed and spun
the gorgeous merino wool for me.
She also taught me to knit with my fingers- instead of needles.

The scarf only took 2-3 hours to make and I've pretty much worn in daily since.
This time I made it by casting on only 7 stitches to make a much longer,
but only slightly narrower scarf, than the last one.
What do you think?

Things I'm Loving

I'm loving these things this week:

* Stripey tights on my girl.

* Stripey trees.

* And, this yarn bombing.
I really like this.

* A date with my big boy and his growing feet.
Tradition here is that the Dr and I take the
birthday child out for dinner by themselves.
Our No. 1 son turned 9.
Before heading out on our date we compared foot size.
I am a size 9.  He is 9.  I got a shock.

* JR's honey.
The kids can't get enough and the fact that it come from
our near by friends and their bees makes it extra delicious.
(Thanks Dee and co.)
We will need more!

Hope you've had a good week.

Things I'm Loving

This week I'm thankful for and loving:

* Discovering this photo that I accidentally snapped
as I was putting my camera away on our forest walk.

* Our home, with this view that seems to change each day.
This week at around the same time we had a double rainbow one morning
and then the next day the first of the winter frosts.
I never tire of our view and particularly love watching the
trees changing colour at this time of year.
I'm so thankful that we can live here.

* A bit of coffee love from the Dr.
He is the barista at our place,
but I don't usually get such a clear message.

*  Making cupcakes with my girl.
My Little Miss requests daily to make cupcakes for the boys.
I humour her once or twice a week.
Icing colour varies, but there are always sprinkles involved.

I hope you have had a good week.

Blanket Bird Collection

I've just finished this collection of native NZ birds-
They are all made from re-claimed wool blankets, with leather legs.

The pukeko are one of my favourite bird discoveries here in NZ.
(I am an Australian, living in NZ)
They hang around our garden and are really cheeky and funny to watch.
Mine have little white bottom tufts, just like the real thing.
One is heading to a kiwi boy in Australia and
another to the Dr's office desk to keep him company at work.

The two Little Kiwi are also off to kiwi kids in Australia and
the big one to a kind blanket-hunting-on-my-behalf friend, as a thank you.
