I just made this pink dress for my girl.
I've wanted to make something like this for a while.
It is my first attempt at making a dress for her.
I bought my sewing machine on holiday with me to the beach,
as well as a $1.50 thrifted vintage double sheet
and some giant Ric Rac.
I took a simple pattern off a dress she currently has,
added a little tuck front and back and Ric Rac top and bottom.
My little Miss 3 is delighted with her pink dress,
even though she is running around the place wearing a sheet!
I'm looking forward to making her more.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love it and reckon my Miss 4 would too - sadly kindy has made a NO shoulders showing rule for summer

ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeletePerfectly pink...well done..great start the New year trying something new. xx
ReplyDeletePretty! Well done, no doubt she loves it! Thanks for linking up! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so super cute! Love the giant ric rac!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! The idea of wearing a sheet isn't so out there..they are usually made of the most comfortable fabric...nice and soft and cool. I love the ric rac too..genius to use it like that around the neckline.
ReplyDeletebeautiful-you really cant beat a vintage floral sheet for little girl prettiness, and the oversize ric-rac really makes it x
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous, I love ric arc, and pink and flowers and little girls dresses so it is all wonderful in my book. Your little girl looks so tall compared to my shortie in those photos. Hope you are having a good summer break.
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous is that giant ric rac?!? The dress looks wonderful and summery and super pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute dress and LOVE the giant ric rac :-)
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with a sheet - its a great print!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from show and tell. THis is awesome. You look like you have been sewing dresses for years. I love love that it is repurposed. Cheers Karen
ReplyDeleteverrry clever :)

Taking your sewing machine away on holidays with you......that's the sign of a really creative person. My mum used to do that when we went to Ocean Grove during the Chrissy hols, only she'd 'turn' sheets and sew boring stuff.
ReplyDeleteYour sweet little dress is gorgeous and I love the jumbo ric rac, if I was three I would wear it 24/7.....
Thanks for visiting my blog it was great to hear from you....
